COUNSELING WITH KARINA Pickard

Therapeutic Foundation

We’ll take a deeper look at the beliefs, experiences, and patterns shaping your anxiety. Together, we’ll begin to untangle what’s been keeping it in place and build something new—rooted in self-understanding, empathy, and compassion. At the core of this work is a strong, safe therapeutic relationship, which research shows is one of the most important factors in lasting change.

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—and how they may be keeping you stuck. Together, we’ll learn to identify unhelpful patterns, challenge self-critical beliefs, and build healthier ways of responding so you can feel more grounded and in control.

What is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy?

If CBT is about changing your thoughts, ACT is about changing your relationship with them.

ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) teaches you that you don’t have to get rid of difficult thoughts or feelings to move forward.

Instead of fighting them, you learn to:

  • notice your thoughts without getting stuck in them

  • allow your emotions without avoiding them

  • focus on what actually matters to you

  • take action even when it feels uncomfortable

The goal isn’t to feel good all the time.
It’s to build a meaningful life—even when things feel hard.
